Sofia Ahlroth is Senior Environmental Economist with the World Bank, and acting manager for the Wealth Accounting and the Valuation of Ecosystem Services (WAVES) Global Partnership. WAVES is working mainstreaming natural capital considerations into policy decisions, supporting countries in developing Natural Capital Accounts) and using them in decision-making.

Previous to joining the World Bank, Sofia was head of the Environmental Economics unit at the Swedish EPA. She has a PhD in Natural Resource Economics and Environmental Strategy Analysis. Her main line of work has been Natural Capital Accounting, environmental -economic policy analysis and valuation of ecosystem services.
