Remote Sensing Scientist
South African National Space Agency

Naledzani Mudau is a Remote Sensing Scientist at the South African National Space Agency. Her current research areas include human settlement mapping and monitoring using Earth observation technology. Before joining SANSA, she worked as a remote sensing advisor in a power utility company in South Africa where she was responsible for integrating remote sensing products into power utility business operations.  She has more than 12 years’ experience in the field of Remote Sensing and GIS. 

She currently co-chairs AfriGEOSS Sustainable Urban Development and South Africa-GEO Human Settlement working groups which promote the use of Earth observation to support sustainable development. She is also participating on GEO Human Planet Atlas Initiative and co-authored a chapter on Smart Economy in Smart Cities and a number of papers on human settlement mapping and applications.
