Michelle is Vice President of The Earth Genome, an environmental data tech startup whose platform and apps enable financial and impact performance evaluation to support better decision-making and investments for companies, municipalities and investors.
She has 20 years of experience working with companies and investors to develop, scale and finance solutions to produce more sustainable business outcomes. Michelle has worked with some of the world’s largest companies across the Fortune 500 and their supply chains, including Coca-Cola, McDonalds, Shell, Dow and Starbucks, as well as investors including the International Finance Corporation and Closed Loop Partner
Michelle has held management positions at Gap Inc., Business for Social Responsibility, the Global Health & Safety Initiative, and The Nature Conservancy as well as her own consultancy, SustainBiz, LLC. Harvard Business Review has published her work with Dow and Shell demonstrating that natural infrastructure can be a viable and cost-effective alternative to traditional infrastructure. Michelle is on the Steering Groups of the Natural Capital Coalition and the Cambridge Institute for Sustainable Leadership, and is the Board Chair of Young Women Social Entrepreneurs. She has a M.S. in environmental management from USF, where she also taught a joint MS-MBA degree program, a B.A. in behavioral biology and public health from Johns Hopkins University, and was an Environmental Leadership Program fellow.
