Katherine is Chief Executive Officer of Gulf International Bank (UK), established in 1975 and focusing on client-related activities in asset management, treasury and structured finance.  Katherine has over 27 years of investing experience in the global asset management industry and has had responsibility for managing institutional and retail funds, both within the UK and internationally, across a broad range of investment disciplines. Most recently, she was the Chief Investment Officer and Chief Executive Officer of Alliance Trust PLC, where her responsibilities included oversight of the entire business, asset allocation and the development of the asset management subsidiary.

Prior to Alliance Trust PLC, Katherine served as Chief Investment Officer and Executive Director of Morley Fund Management, now Aviva Investors, and prior to that, as Chief Investment Officer of Aberdeen Asset Management PLC. Katherine also serves as a Member of the Supervisory Board of Deutsche Bank AG. Katherine was nominated as a Young Global Leader of the World Economic Forum in 2006 and appointed to the Foundation Board of Young Global Leaders in January 2014. She served as a member of the Executive Committee for the World Business Council for Sustainable Development from 2014-16 and was a Founder Member of the Advisory Council of The CityUK. In 2014, she was awarded a CBE for services to the asset management industry and charitable services through the Baring Foundation, where she has served as Vice Chair and currently Chair of the Investment Committee. She served as a member of the UK Prime Minister’s Business Advisory Group from 2012-15 and the Scottish Business Board, chaired by the Secretary of State for Scotland during the same period.
