Dr Gemma Cranston is Director, Natural Resource Security, at the University of Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership (CISL). Gemma leads the Natural Capital Impact Group, which brings together influential companies with a global reach to determine how business can sustain the natural world through its strategies and operating practices. She is leading a team focusing upon business led projects on soil, water and biodiversity. She led the pilot testing of the Natural Capital Protocol with over 50 businesses.
Prior to CISL, Gemma was the Lead Scientist at Global Footprint Network. She led projects out of the Geneva office as well as supporting the organisation’s Research and Standards Department by contributing to research on the Ecological Footprint methodology and applications.
