Central Scotland District Manager
Andrew is the Central Scotland District Manager for Tilhill Forestry, and is responsible for leading a team of eight forest managers, based in Dunblane. They manage a portfolio of mainly productive and native/amenity woodlands extending to >20,000ha for a broad range of investment, NGO, State and individual clients.
Sustainably restructuring productive forests and new woodland creation in support of the Scottish forest industry are the main work focus, in 2014/2015 planting >2M trees.
Management involves practical consideration by owners’ objectives of silviculture, ecology, landscape, hydrology, carbon sequestration and cultural heritage, seeking to deliver the Scottish Forestry Strategy within a matrix of designations, industry and certification standards, climate change risks and sustainable resource management.
