Project Advisor, Bioclimate

Penda Diallo is a Project Adviser with Bioclimate. She is currently completing a PhD at the University of Edinburgh on natural resource governance in West Africa, with a focus on Guinea.
She worked previously as an environmental consultant with AECOM and as a Research Associate and Assistant with the Conflict Security and Development Group, King’s College London/ African Leadership Centre (ALC), with whom she is a Visiting Research Associate. She has also worked with Helen Keller Worldwide in Guinea, She was a Peer-Educator for the Institute of Labor and Community in New York and was an intern with UNICEF in New York.
Penda Diallo has a MLitt in Peace and Conflict Studies from St Andrews University and a BA (Hons) in Marketing Communications and Advertising from De Montfort University (Leicester). 

Penda’s research interests and expertise include natural resources management, corporate social responsibility, conflict, security and development, the environmental impact of mining activities on local communities and renewable and non-renewable energy in Africa. She is also interested in issues of youth vulnerability and exclusion in West Africa.
