Environmental & Social Policy Specialist, International Finance Corporation

Ekaterina Grigoryeva is an Environmental and Social Policy Specialist at the International Finance Corporation, a private sector arm of the World Bank Group. She currently works on development, review, and implementation of IFC’s policies and procedures that ensure adequate management of environmental and social risks in IFC’s investments. During her career at IFC over the past eight years, Ekaterina has focused on innovative approaches to embedding sustainability and responsibility in the financial sector’s operations, and collaborated with a wide range of stakeholders to advance this global agenda.

One of Ekaterina’s areas of professional interest is linking environmental risk analysis ? from the financial institutions’ perspective ? to financial and credit risk assessment, thus translating the high-level concept of green economy into the practical language understood by lenders and investors.

Ekaterina holds a PhD in Economics. She also completed her MBA at the University of Ottawa, Canada.
