Chris joined Olam in 2012 as their General Manager for Environmental Sustainability. Olam is a leading agri-business present in 65 countries, active across the value chain  from growing and sourcing to, trading and processing, covering food and food ingredients, as well as industrial raw materials.

He is responsible for supporting the business to develop and integrate the strategies and actions to deliver environmental governance and leadership across Olam’s global operations. Key thematic areas include water stewardship, land management, climate change, natural capital and reporting. 

In his role Chris works closely with colleagues in all areas of the business from finance to farm management in order to operationalise environmental value as one of the key tools for driving Olam forward. It is also increasingly important that he grows those relationships with organisations and stakeholders including financiers, communities, customers and development agencies; which can support the delivery of mutual sustainable value in a more efficient manner through partnerships and collaborations.

Chris holds an honours degree in Chemical Engineering and a Diploma in Environmental Management and Technology. He brings 20 years of environmental experience from a variety of sectors including the automotive sector with Toyota and the energy sector with E.ON.
