Alastair MacGregor is Chief Operating Officer at Trucost Plc, the leading provider of natural capital measurement and valuation. Alastair manages Trucost’s corporate services team, as well as overseeing Trucost’s large bespoke projects. He led Trucost’s research on behalf of the TEEB for Business Coalition Natural Capital at Risk: The Top 100 Externalities of Business and isan Industrial Advisor on the application of environmental economics in business to Cranfield University’s Environment Program.  

Prior to joining Trucost he was a manager of Japanese hedge fund and pension fund investments, and has experience across a broad range of business sectors including FMCGs, automotive, technology, machinery and basic materials.

Prior to joining Trucost in 2011 he was a sustainability consultant. He is a CFA charterholder and holds an MSc in Economics for Natural Resource and Environmental Management from Cranfield University.  He also holds a BSc (Hons) in Chemistry from Newcastle University.
