D2: Quick-fire case studies

New ways of managing risk and creating opportunity

The right tools and models can help to inform decisions, by managing risk and identifying opportunities.  In this session, three quick-fire case studies will explore pioneering approaches that are being developed.

WWF's Natural Capital Stress Test was developed with the intention to help the UK Government (and businesses) track emerging environmental risk ‘hot spots’ in the economy. Meanwhile, the Scottish Government's TIMES model offers lessons from mainstreaming climate change across government departments. The third case study looks at how a new diagnostic tool is being used in developing countries to explore the full value chain, identifying what is needed to create a strong supportive enabling environment for natural capital.
