Corporate Director of HSE & Sustainability, AkzoNobel
André Veneman graduated as a Medical Doctor in 1983. From 1983 - 1988 onward he worked as a Medical Coordinator in emergency and refugee situations in the tropics.
In 1989 he joined Shell International with responsibilities in the areas of Occupational Health Management and Public Health.
Andre transferred to AkzoNobel in 1999 where he was appointed as Corporate Director, Sustainability and HSE.
In addition to his role in AkzoNobel, he is Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Dutch Sustainable Trade Initiative and the Dutch branch of the European Ecolabel Foundation / Stichting MilieuKeur, board member of the True Price Initiative, the Amsterdam Climate Initiative and the Amsterdam Initiative against Malnutrition (AIM).
